WICKED COAST IPA
This year we wanted to go super hard on all the IPA flavor notes, but have an awesome summer beer that’s good for hot days with the tunes cranked up. So let us introduce you to our Wicked Coast IPA!
Starting with the grains we laid down a track of pilsner malt to keep a lighter finish and body and a touch of rye to make a little spice hook and complexity. Over that we laid down Citra and Strata hops in the boil. Nah, not enough. Let’s go harder and add Cryo Citra and Cryo Strata hops in fermentation to make this IPA wield flavor like a battle axe! Still not enough. OK, how about we add HyperBoost versions of both hop varieties too just to make sure the flavor tears the roof off this anniversary party?
Now that sounds about right. With all of this, you’d be shocked to find out it’s actually well balanced and drinkable, and somehow comes out to just 5.0%. Duck Foot 11th Anniversary Wicked Coast IPA may be a small beer but the character is wailing out full-sized power chords of bright citrus and fresh strawberry aromas and flavors, while you’ll notice hints of dankness getting passed around your cheering taste buds.

HOW’S IT LOOK?
A very clear pale yellow body holds up a white head of tight, tiny bubbles.
WHAT AM I SMELLING?
Loads of hops hit your face right away! Bright citrus, grapefruit and lime, join forces with some subtle strawberry notes to round out the fruity side of the aroma while a dank, resinous note runs underneath the whole time. As it warms a melon note adds to the complexity of the aroma.
HMMM, THAT TASTES LIKE…
The hops in the aroma did not lie, they put on quite the show in the flavor too. The resinous flavor lays a base down and the citrus jumps in on top. Grapefruit and citrus dance together up front and then the melon shines through in the middle. The finish leans into the strawberry notes rounding out the finish with a light sweetness that balances pleasantly with a mild hop bitterness. At 5.0% abv this is all about the hop character
THERE’S A PARTY IN MY MOUTH!
Light body and moderate carbonation make this a beer that dances across the tongue and leaves you ready for the next sip over and over again.
