One Liner Madness

ONE LINER MADNESS is a Time Out Critics’ Pick show that travels the country to find the best joke writer in cities with thriving comedy communities. For the second year in a row, it’s coming to San Diego.

On Saturday, September 19, 64 local comedians will go head-to-head in a bracket-style, single-elimination, one-liner joke contest at Duck Foot Brewing Company’s outdoor stage. Audience applause determines which performers advance, and who ultimately becomes the 2026 SAN DIEGO ONE LINER MADNESS CHAMPION and winner of the trophy and cash prize. It’s like a March Madness tournament, but 95 minutes, and with jokes instead of basketballs.

This outdoor show is hosted by Emily Winter (E!, The New Yorker, NPR), and Alex Petit (Abnormal Nights Comedy, Duck Foot Comedy).
