TASTING NOTES
Golden body with some peachy haze to it. The head is dense and fluffy, with a creamy color. Think about the rich golden sunset color of apricots and the flesh of a black plum.
👃 WHAT AM I SMELLING?
So much ripe plum! Then a touch of the apricot just behind it. You can sense it is going to be a sour taste, with a note of acetic acid peaking through.
👅 HMMM, THAT TASTES LIKE…
The acid is definitely a dominant force in this beer. Apricot is clearly present. The plum has that lightly earthy note that the meat of plums can give while still being sweet. A light wheat character supports all of the bright and snappy flavors. For such a high alcohol beer this is troublingly easy to drink.
😋 THERE’S A PARTY IN MY MOUTH!
Soft body with moderate carbonation. The acid is the last thing you will taste and it leaves you with a little bit of a pucker of the cheeks.

Fruity, bright and acidic.

This is our third installment of our annual Purple Reign limited release. For 2023 we’ve switched out blackberries for a regal helping of prestigiously purple plums. This second stone fruit melds perfectly with its apricot cousin, bringing an even more complex Imperial Tart with rich earthy and floral notes than before. Be sure to pour Purple Reign in a stemmed glass and raise it to the light to appreciate the majesty of this sweet and tart libation before addressing your subjects.
